After being sourrounded be natures most beautiful creations, the next step on our trip was Queenstowns. This little town is mostly famous for all kinds of adrenalin-activities like bungee jumping (they invented it here), rafting, jet boating, sky diving, paragliding, river surfing, snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, canoying…the list is endless. Ask your self: What does that mean? Exactly a lot of people and of course mostly the “younger” one! What nationalities? English, Aussie and German! What does that mean? A lot of bars and noise! OK, that’s what we’ve known about Queenstown and because of that I thought we wouldn’t stay for longer than 1 or 2 days. When we arrieved in Queenstown we’ve had fantastic weather, so we could see the this little town sorrunded by alpine mountains in front of lake Wakatipu. That was really lovely! Because peak season is the wintertime, there haven’t been to many people around. So our first impression has been quit well. We, especially Trish, enjoyed walking though a town filled with people and doing some window-shopping. Nice, nice, nice.
OK, people say: “You can’t go to Queenstown without doing at least one activity!” And you guys know me, so I had to do at least one! So I did a Heli-Bike-Trip!!! That means, that you do a Heliflight on a summit in the Remarkables (mountain name) and then speed down an 18 km “track” with downhill full suspension bikes. That was just awesome!!! It’s been 6 of us doing this trip, including our guide Simon (what a great job!). we started 8:30 in the morning with sunshine and perfect conditions. The flight took just 10 min. but the pilot did some cool loops so we’d see a lot of the mountains and the town. On the top we started with a really rocky part for warming up. Because for me it’s been the first time of downhill biking, so it was very very exciting!!! After the rocky part we had to pass a single track and later on a 4WD road with a lot of speed. All together it took us 2,5 hours to get down and I haven’t been the last, so I did well! It was a fantastic, exciting and challenging experience!!! To be honest I couldn’t enjoy the nature or the view, because I kept my eyes on the track but we also did some breaks! That was the last impression of Queenstown for. We left Queenstown that day and I still do’t know if it’s the Queen of town, but it’s definitely worth having a look!
So if you’re in Queenstown, meet the Vertigo-MTB-guys and get your trip booked!!! (Grüße an Palmer!!!)

Hey Ihr zwei!
Knuts Spruch "Alexsunder, A.... auseinander!" macht so gleich wieder viel mehr Sinn. Und LEX ist übrigens lateinisch für "das Gesetz". Viel Spaß beim Wortspielen ;-)
