After our “exhausting” visit at the “WildFoods” we decided to leave the Westcoast and return to Christchurch. We went from coast-2-coast via ArthursPass. Like all the nature in NZ it’s a beautiful National Park with a lot of alpine mountains, rivers and valleys. Quit close to the Pass we parked our van and took time to chill and relax. At night we could see and hear the famous Kea, a mountain parrot which you can only find in NZ.
Back in Chch we had to get back to “business”-applying for jobs in the ski resorts. That was quit a mission, because they’ve had a massive application-procedure. We had to fill out a long list of questions, upload our CVs, coverings letter, references and so on! And we haven’t applied for a manager position, just as a Cashier and Café Attendant. It took us almost 3-4 days to finish it! But with a little help of our English mate Chris, it has been easier!Apropos Chris: I’m not sure if we’d already written about him. We got to know each other in the Waipara campground during our vineyard job. At this moment he was cycling with Jon around NZ, yeah! Later we meet each other a several times and at last back in Chch. He’s now living in Lyttelton in a wonderful house full of climbers! We’ve had a delicious dinner and some really nice days, we’d really enjoyed, THANX Chris!!!But as a traveller we’d to leave our almost 2nd “home-”town! On the road again…
